For our technology team based in Munich, we are looking for senior developers with experience in object-oriented software development in Java / J2EE
Your responsibilities:
Working as part of an international team of highly experienced developers, you will be involved in:
• architecting, designing and developing new features for the existing online communities and new products
• taking the role of a lead developer responsible for efficient and effective development
• redesigning and realizing data integration process of product and price data for Europe’s leading Comparison Shopping Portal
• developing advanced back-end systems for customer management and sales process
• developing in-house administrative and reporting tools
• automating complex data management and data mining processes

Your profile:
We require excellent developers with extensive enterprise development experience. As a minimum, you should possess:
• a university degree and at least 3-5 years of work experience in a fast-moving IT and Internet environment
• excellent knowledge of Java Enterprise architectures, related building blocks (JBoss, EJB3, JMS, Spring, Hibernate, Web Services) and development tools (Ant, Eclipse, IntelliJ, UML tools)
• proven object-oriented systems design experience (UML), experience with layered internet architectures and web services communication
• experience with agile software development methods (XP, Scrum)
• knowledge in the area of presentation layer frameworks (e.g. Spring Web MVC) and/or rich client platforms (e.g. Eclipse Rich Client Platform)
• proven knowledge in the area of DB related development (SQL, Stored Procedures)
• experience with high volume and high availability platforms
• good knowledge of Windows, UNIX, Linux or BSD
• shell programming is a plus
• experience working with version control systems such as CVS or subversion

Ciao GmbH is looking for an experienced, web-savvy, talented, highly motivated, quality, process and success-oriented IT Project Manager with expertise in managing complex technical engineering projects to join our team in Munich, Germany.

Your mission will be to take over the responsibility for the design, development, implementation and integration of challenging software projects in various business areas, like the comparison shopping portal, online communities, new product and feature development, ETL and CRM tools, data integration and advanced back-end systems.

You will have the opportunity to work with Ciao’s sales, operations and product management teams worldwide. Your analytical and problem-solving skills as well as your ability to independently drive projects with multiple stake-holders in a fast changing environment will be challenged.

Your duty involves:
• Gathering project requirements, analysing business and technical requirements, and leading business and technical workshops to finalise requirements and project approach
• Establishing project plans and associated resource and timeline needs, coordinating closely with other project and organisation managers to appropriately share resources
• Managing the overall project lifecycle process and resources from start to finish, ensuring project deadlines, goals, and quality standards are met

Our requirements are:

• BA/BS/MS degree, MBA a plus.
• 3-5 years experience in an IT project management role
• Strong international project management skills and track record, PMP or PRINCE2 a plus, as well as solid people management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication and strong negotiation skills are essential
• Detail oriented and focused on customer service: this person must be highly-organized, able to manage multiple high-profile projects, and able to perform under the stress of a deadline-driven environment
• Experience working with Engineering to get products to market
• Must be a team player able to work with a wide variety of groups both internally and externally
• Ability to solve problems as they arise and make decisions based on priorities
• Permission to live and work in Germany

Be a member of a dynamic team that is vital to Ciao GmbH. You will be part of the System Administration group with international responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
• Proven experience and track record in a Sun Solaris, linux, BSD environment
• Must be able to manage expectations and projects to ensure agreed upon deliverables are met in a timely manner
• Must have hands-on skills in data center operations, hardware deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Must be self-motivated, able to take direction and work well with diverse people
• Must be extremely comfortable in a changing environment
